Why Organic?

Handmade by MLE tries to use only high quality, eco-friendly, soft and comfortable fabrics so that you can feel good about dressing your little ones in these garments day after day!

The most noticeable difference between organic cotton and regular cotton is that the cotton is grown without the use of harmful pesticides. Traditional cotton is accountable for almost 25% of all chemical pesticides used in agriculture. Nearly 50% of the textile market uses cotton, which means unfortunately a lot of chemicals are seeping into our earth.

To be considered 100% organic, the cotton has to go through a very strict approval process. The certifier (Global Organic Textile Standard- GOTS for short) has to approve every step in the process from the farming of cotton to the finished goods.

Low Impact Dyes

Low impact dyes do not contain toxic chemicals, require less rinsing and have a high absorption rate. This translates to a decreased use of rise water which creates less waste and runoff. I'd say that'a a win!
